Game Speeds - Soft (Vanilla)

Description

Warning: The game may get more difficult at higher game speeds.

This modlet aims to support my other mod, Party Run Speed - Soft. It allows for a faster effective run speed while preserving balance. As part of the Soft series, the changes aim to be realistic to protect some of the immersion. Additionally, I noticed some players are looking for fixed, slower game speeds for co-op multiplayer.

The result is either: 80%, 90%, 110%, 120%, 130%, or 150% speed of the game, includes combat speed and enemy run speed.

Play your way:

You can mix and match it with the files of my other mod to suit your needs. For instance, use 80% game speed and either +25% party run speed to reach normal effective run speed; or +50% party run speed if you want it a bit easier. Another example, 120% game speed and either +10% party run speed to improve run speed, combat speed and enemy run speed while keeping immersion and balance.

You will be happy to hear that Retroactive Skill Point Reward fix by Zebrina is included. I have done that because both utilize the same files.

Requirements

  Installation

  • []Choose ONE modifier[/]

    []Copy the appropriate .ds2res file[/]

    []Insert into: <your game Path>\Resources[/]

    []Enjoy the game[/]

  (to uninstall, simply delete the new file)

  Recommended file

  My recommendation: 120%. (direct download)

  If you couple it with the recommended Party Run Speed file (+25%) the effective run speed equals 150% (combo download)

  • []80% - 90% for those who seek a relaxed experience. Use one of the party run speed - soft adds (link) to balance it out. [/]

    []110% - 130% if you are in control and want faster run speed without making the game trivial (since foes speed up as well). [/]

    []150% different reasons this might suit... Might consider adding a small amount of run speed instead or using further Soft mods.  [/]

          TROUBLESHOOTING

          When you install a new mod or change your overrides at all in Dungeon Siege 2 vanilla, it will make the game filter out your characters that were saved with a different override order, but your pre-existing characters are not gone. If you have this error, read on to fix it:

          1.)  If this mod makes your saves disappear after installing it, keep it installed and then check your version of the game at the main menu at the bottom left. Close the game.

          2.) Now just install Dungeon Siege 2 AllSaves (DS2 AllSaves) for your corresponding game's version, then launch the game up with the new AllSaves .exe file
