Dungeon Siege 2 Remastered - 4K and Multiplayer

Disclaimer

You may be concerned that this mod is new, and what is the point in testing it if a new version comes out and it invalidates your save, right? Well, I've considered that and built a system that lets my remaster load saves from any version of the remaster. My vision is to not change any gameplay-related system and only translate the creator's artistic vision to modern systems. Therefore, there will never be any incompatibilities with future versions of the remaster. So, don't worry about your saves getting corrupted either. So, get in there, farmer, and test, test, test. Invite your friends to test it with you. It's easier than ever, as OpenSpy includes native NAT negotiation, so you don't need port forwarding to host a server online like in the old days. Or use LAN and connect with each other via Hamachi or ZeroTier. I've reworked the networking so it works with as many LAN interfaces as you have, not just one. Ever noticed LAN not working? One major reason was that if you had another LAN interface installed or a VPN, the server list wouldn't populate.

This mod fully remasters Dungeon Siege 2, making it enjoyable on modern PCs, and includes menu and UI scaling up to 4K.

Installation instructions

Drag and drop the remaster files into your Dungeon Siege 2 Steam folder.

Main features

Remasters Dungeon Siege 2 to restore multiplayer using OpenSpy and upgrades the menu and UI to scale up to 4K. Also includes upscaled menu and UI textures using ESRGAN. Fixes long-standing crashes investigated using exception reports, resulting in the most stable Dungeon Siege 2 build available. Added Fullscreen/Borderless/Windowed as display modes in the options.

Cutting Room Floor

This refers to content that was cut from the game, scrapped ideas, or intended but unreleased content.

So far, I have restored an unfinished delete party confirmation. I plan to find and restore more Cutting Room Floor content.

Requirements

All you need is a fresh Steam copy of Dungeon Siege 2.
