The Black Sigil

Wondrous item, Artifact (requires attunement) A black, geometric tablet depicting a man’s hand, engraved with angular sigils that appear to move like ink under glass. When attuned, a thin smoke seeps from the holder’s eyes and mouth when they speak in the dark. While attuned to the Black Sigil, you gain the following benefits: Command the Shadow As an action, you can merge with your own shadow for up to 1 minute. While merged: You become incorporeal and can move through spaces as narrow as 1 inch wide. You gain resistance to all nonmagical damage. You can see through magical darkness as if it were dim light. When the effect ends, you must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or gain one level of exhaustion as the void leeches vitality from you. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until the next dusk. Eyes of the Void You have Darkvision out to 60 feet. You can use an action to sense all living creatures within 60 feet who cast shadows. Once you use this ability, you can't use it again until the next dusk Whispered Dominion You may use your bonus action to animate the shadows of up to 3 creatures within 30 feet. Each target must succeed on a DC 15 Charisma saving throw or become frightened until the end of your next turn as their own shadow attempts to strangle or drag them down. Once a creature succeeds, it is immune to this effect for 24 hours. Curse — The Eclipsing Hunger Attuning to the Black Sigil binds your shadow to it forever. You gain the following curse: Your shadow becomes sentient (Int 14, Wis 16, Cha 18) and whispers constantly in a language only you understand. It craves freedom urging you toward cruelty, domination, and secrecy. Whenever you roll a natural 1 on an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check, your shadow takes partial control for 1 round.
