ToD - HotDQ - Ch4 - Animal Abuse

Tyranny of Dragons - Hoard of the Dragon Queen One of the travelers—a noble—is regularly seen mistreating his horses. He allows their collars and girths to chafe sores in their hide, skimps on their feed, and whips them when the aching, hungry animals don’t pull hard enough or fast enough to suit him. If the characters still have their horses, he admires them and offers to buy one or more to replace the “useless nags” he is stuck with. Eventually, one of his horses will collapse in its harness, and he will either beat it to death in the road or cut it loose and leave it to die, unless one or more characters intervenes. He has a knight and a mage traveling with him as bodyguards.
