Rarefied Monsters - Field Spawns

Tired of repeatedly fighting the same monsters just to get a Rarefied Monster to appear?

This mod changes the field-spawn behaviour of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition, allowing Rarefied Monsters to appear directly on the overworld as visible field monsters.

Instead of relying solely on their normal Rarefied encounter mechanics, these monsters can now be encountered roaming the field just like regular enemies.

Normally, Rarefied Monsters are special variants that require their particular encounter conditions to occur.

This mod changes that behaviour by adding/configuring the Rarefied monsters as field spawns in their respective areas.

Once installed, you can encounter the Rarefied Monster itself while exploring the overworld.

The intention isn't to simply increase the Rarefied spawn rate. The goal is to make Rarefied Monsters function as actual overworld enemies, creating a more direct and enjoyable way of hunting them.

Why?

Rarefied Monsters have some of the game's most interesting designs, drops, and encounters, but tracking them down can involve a considerable amount of repetitive battling.

This mod modifies the game's field monster spawn/encounter data.

It may conflict with other mods that modify the same field-spawn or monster encounter data.

Important

This is not simply a Rarefied Monster rate increase.

The purpose of this mod is to make Rarefied Monsters appear as regular visible field encounters.

The Rarefied Monster therefore exists on the field as its own encounter rather than requiring the player to repeatedly trigger encounters with the standard version of the monster.

Installation

Bring the hunt out of the shadows and straight onto the overworld. This combined package seamlessly merges the visible Rarefied monster spawns with the Metal Safari overhaul, turning random, frustrating encounters into high-value targets you can actively track across Erdrea.

By utilizing custom spawn logic, Metal Slimes and Rarefied variants now co-exist perfectly on the field map without overwriting each other or crashing the game. If a Metal Slime and a Rarefied monster try to spawn at the exact same coordinate, the engine simply shifts one over so you can hunt both side-by-side.
