First-Person Camera (FPC)

This mod lets you play as any character (including modded ones) in first-person view. It's also online compatible!

You can toggle first-person mode with either:

• []ALT + P

  []Share button (PlayStation controllers)

  []Select button (Xbox controllers)

  You can use the right thumbstick of your controller to move the camera around. You can also use your mouse, but the cursor is visible for now.

  Mod Settings:

  You can open up the settings menu with CTRL + SHIFT + X

  Here are some of the properties included in the mod settings:

  • []Hair visibility

    []Accessories visibility

    []Disable first-person if running

    []Field of view

    []Camera location offset (let you offset the camera)

    []Camera rotation lag speed (less = a more stable camera)

    []Duration before auto lock on (0 = turns auto lock-on off)

    []Acceleration increase fov

  Note that some characters like Dr. Wheelo have a specific config (they don't use the default one), for him this is the case because the camera was clipping inside his head.

  About camera stability:

  There are two properties that mainly help with stability: "Camera rotation lag speed" and "Acceleration increase fov".

  So here’s what I suggest:

  • []Set "Camera rotation lag speed" to 1 (don’t go below 1)

    []Uncheck "Acceleration increase fov"

    Even with that, you might still want the camera to feel more stable. The problem is that if it gets too stable, the camera can end up in the wrong place, like slipping behind the character’s head.

    That’s why it has to stay attached to the head position.

    How the Mod Works:

    The mod basically tries its best to handle every single scenario. As surprising as it may sound, it does a lot of stuff behind the scenes to give you a smooth gameplay experience.

    And that's because the game wasn’t designed with first-person mode in mind. That’s why you may encounter some odd behavior, such as characters teleporting during an ultimate, or your character freezing when an opponent launches a rush attack.

    Also, keep in mind that if first-person mode gets disabled, it’s because the mod wasn’t able to find a character to follow, this can happen in some scenarios.
