Mesh swaps Neve's bun exploration/combat hair with her long casual hair. Features fully functioning physics and mesh collision.

INSTALLATION

The Strand Hair setting MUST be enabled for this mod to function properly.

KNOWN ISSUES

If Strand Hair is not enabled, Neve will appear bald.

Armor appearances with large or flared collars will clip with the hair, and have visible collision issues (as seen in a few of the uploaded photos).

HOW I ACHIEVED THIS

This mod does not use previous methods of mesh swapping others have used, it uses a new technique I discovered which replaces all the data in a BWHairItemData file, with all the data found in a surrogate BWHairItemData file. It also replaces the hash found in one AppearanceItemObjectVariation file, with the one from a surrogate AppearanceItemObjectVariation.

This method is effectively changing all the references and data from one hair's files, into another hair's references and data, meaning a mesh swap can occur without the need for any complicated or incompatible description root file edits.

I am unsure how this type of mesh swapping scales to other kinds of meshes, such as armors or weapons, however I hope others can use this information to do further research on the topic.

Specifically for this mod, I replaced all the data found in Characters/Actors/Neve/Hair/f_HAR_Neve_Hair01_item, with the data found in Characters/Actors/Neve/Hair/f_HAR_Neve_Hair02_item.

Then, I replaced the NameHash found in Characters/Actors/Neve/Hair/f_HAR_Neve_Hair01_item96E08A52-F755-1A4F-8BCF-1FD10791F506_ShaderParameterVariation, with the NameHash from Characters/Actors/Neve/Hair/f_HAR_Neve_Hair02_item96E08A52-F755-1A4F-8BCF-1FD10791F506_ShaderParameterVariation.
