📋 About This Mod
Description: This mod is designed with the Blood Mage in mind. Blood mages can substitute health (Constitution) for Mana (Willpower), but it doesn\'t allow you to substitute Constitution for Willpower for equipment requirements. This mod aims to rectify that by removing the Willpower restrictions. That way you don\'t have to dump your valuable attribute points into Willpower, when they would be better spent on Constitution. There are already mods that remove all restrictions, but I find this to be unbalancing. This only affects mage gear, and it keeps the Magic requirement. By request, I have added a \"No Secondary Restrictions For Equipment\" file, which removes the Willpower requirement from mage gear, the Constitution requirement from warrior gear, and Cunning requirement from rogue gear, while maintaining their primary requirements - Magic/Strength/Dexterity. Only use one of the two available downloads. Install: Copy the .gda file to your override folder: \\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\packages\\core\\override Uninstall: Delete the .gda file from the override folder --------------------- Credit: I used one of Offkorn\'s files as a starting point: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2217
This mod removes the Willpower attribute requirement for mage equipment, letting Blood Magic users wear mage gear without spending points on Willpower. It also includes an optional file that removes secondary restrictions on equipment. Ideal for Dragon Age: Origins players who want more gear flexibility for Blood Mages.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solves a real build problem for Blood Mages (193 endorsements).
- Optional file adds extra flexibility for gear restrictions.
- Simple, focused mod that does exactly what it says.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2011 — may not be compatible with newer game versions or mods.
- Only affects equipment restrictions; no other gameplay changes.
For Dragon Age: Origins players who play Blood Mages and want to wear mage gear without investing in Willpower. Also for those who want to bypass secondary equipment restrictions. Skip if you're not a Blood Mage or prefer to keep original restrictions.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to place the mod files in your Dragon Age: Origins 'override' folder (usually Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/packages/core/override).
- If you use the optional file, test it with your current gear to ensure no conflicts with other mods.
- Since the mod is old, check if you have any other equipment mods that might override these changes.
