TSM Cord of the Beresaad

2018-10-13 -- Rec'd a report that this mod is not compatible with tmp7704's Qunari Update. As far as I can tell, Qunari Update does not contain any conflicting files (i.e., it does not seem to include a 'gen00fl_sten.utc' file), so I cannot create a compatible version (or even track down where the issue lies). Sorry!

What it is and how to use it:

Poor Sten is the red-headed stepchild of Bioware companions. No real starting gear, no unique companion accessory item, only one specialization, and because of the area level scaling, I never acquire his only 'personal' item (Asala) until the game is nearly over.

In the interest of giving him something Qunari-ish, I usually pick up the Par Vollen Willstone amulet, but it's annoying to have to pay for a companion trinket when all the others come equipped with one. grumpy face

With this mod, Sten will be equipped at recruitment with 'Cord of the Beresaad', an amulet-slot accessory with modest stats and restricted to Sten; the description ('braided of many thin leather strands... otherwise unornamented') was inspired by the ubiquitous neckseam concealer.

For users of NSIBystander's Improved Follower Items, I've also included alternate versions of the amulet, with stats similar to that mod's Low/Medium/High versions of the vanilla follower accessories.

INSTALL ONLY ONE by placing the desired version into the override folder (usually something like \Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override):

tsm_sten_cord -> 'vanilla' stats

tsm_sten_cord_low -> improved low stats

tsm_sten_cord_med -> improved medium stats

tsm_sten_cord_high -> improved high stats

To revert to Sten's original starting gear, just delete my files.

More parity-for-Sten mods:

TSM Better Qunari - A balance tweak that gives all qunari a racial bonus of +2 Str, +1 Wil, and +1 Con.

Two Specializations Sten - Give Stens two specialization points, same as the other companions.

Most unique items upgradable - includes an upgradeable verrsion of Asala (gen_im_wep_mel_gsw_stn.uti, if you just want the changes for that item).

Dain's Fixes - includes modifications similar to the above two.
