While understandable from a game mechanics POV, the base material and level scaling of the important Return to Ostagar quest rewards annoyed me from a roleplay standpoint… while they can be upgraded by selling them and buying them back, the king’s ‘golden’ armour and Duncan’s weapons should be better than T5 Red Steel, no matter when they are acquired. And insult to lore upon injury to continuity, according to both The Stolen Throne and The Calling, Maric’s Blade is Dragonbone.

Better RTO Items comes in four flavours of improvement; please install only ONE!

• []Dragonbone Maric’s Blade (Better RTO Items Lite) - Maric’s Blade will instead spawn at fixed T7 Dragonbone. (Requires the Return to Ostagar DLC.)

  []Better RTO Items (Dragonbone) - Cailan’s Armor Set and Shield, Duncan’s Sword and Dagger, and Maric’s Blade will all spawn at fixed T7 Dragonbone. (Requires the Return to Ostagar DLC.)

  []Better RTO Items (Volcanic Aurum) - Cailan’s Armor Set and Shield, Duncan’s Sword and Dagger, and Maric’s Blade will spawn at fixed T9 Volcanic Aurum. (Requires Awakening expansion, and for use in DAO, a mod like Awakening in the OC. Note that this has received only minimal testing, and should be regarded as a beta release. )

  []Better RTO Items (Dragonbone to Volcanic Aurum) - Edits the material of Cailan’s Armor Set and Shield, Duncan’s Sword and Dagger, and Maric’s Blade to spawn at T7 Dragonbone, which can then be level scaled in the usual ways to T8 White Steel and T9 Volcanic Aurum.   (Requires Awakening expansion, and for use in DAO, a mod like Awakening in the OC. Again, this has been tested only minimally, and should be regarded as a beta release.)

  Again, all versions require the Return to Ostagar DLC.  The Volcanic Aurum versions also require the Awakening expansion.

  Armour parts (where applicable) have all been rune-enabled, for compatibility with Awakening Rune Fixes.

  All packages also include an entirely optional bugfix for the weirdly long vanilla Repeater Gloves Rapid Aim buff (reducing it from -3. 0 seconds (!) to -0. 3 sec).

  Please please PLEASE read the ReadMe documents in each of the archives, for installation instructions and compatibility information!!!

  For the revised items to drop during the quest, this must be installed prior to entering the RTO version of the Ostagar map. Post-RTO, revised versions can be spawned via the developer console.
