The city of Jader sits like a last outpost of the powerful Empire of Orlais, just on the border to Ferelden. Once occupied by the Empire, Ferelden is now its uneasy neighbour.

With a bustling port, Jader is not only the main trading point between the two countries but also home to a Grey Warden base.

The Grey Wardens are the last bastion of defence against the ever present Darkspawn threat. Darkspawn are creatures of senseless evil who time again leaves their underground lairs and attempts to swarm the surface world to bring about its destruction, a Blight.

But there are other, even more dangerous enemies in this world and some may be even closer than the Grey Wardens think.

Play as Ariana du Landreau, a rogue class Orlesian Grey Warden from their headquarters in Montsimmard. Accompanied by her friend the Chevalier Roquefort, she travels to Jader to track down her parents’ murderer.

Orlais is a place where nothing is as it seems. Here your worst enemy may wear the face of one close to you, just as you may find a friend where you least expect it.
