About this ReShade

This preset aims to refine the "vanilla" atmosphere of the game. The goal was to achieve a grounded Dark Fantasy look by cleaning up the image and emphasizing the game’s somber tone.

Visual Changes:

• []Corrected Lighting: Removed the muddy purple/yellow vanilla tint for a cleaner, more natural appearance.

  []Deep Shadows: Enhanced shadows to add depth and volume to the environment and characters.

  []Neutral Palette: Subtly desaturated colors to provide a grittier feel while maintaining a "Soft Neutral" balance.

• []Performance: This is not a lightweight preset. It uses high-quality shaders that will impact your FPS. A mid-to-high range PC is recommended (more than a "potato" PC).

  []Essential Tip: I highly recommend using the 4GB Patch for the game executable to ensure stability and prevent crashes, as the added shader load can be demanding.

• []MartysMods_MXAO: For advanced ambient occlusion and deep shadows.

  []qUINT_lightroom: For precise color grading and neutral balance.

  []SMAA: For smooth anti-aliasing.

  []vort_Motion: For subtle motion effects.

  []ZN_DAMP_RT & CAS: For depth-based effects and sharpness.

• []Download ReShade;

  []Select Game: Run the installer and point it to DAOrigins.exe (located in the bin_ship folder). Select DirectX 9.

  []Automatic Effect Setup: On the screen "Choose a preset file (.ini) to install only the effects it uses", click Browse. Select my .ini file. ReShade will automatically download only the necessary shader packages (MartysMods, qUINT, VortEffects, etc.).

  []In-Game Setup: Disable Anti-Aliasing in the game's video settings (it breaks depth-based effects like MXAO). Press Home to open the ReShade menu and ensure the preset is active.

  []Toggle Key: Use the Page Down key to quickly turn the ReShade effects ON and OFF in-game.

  How to Uninstall

  • []Delete Preset: Simply remove the .ini file from your bin_ship folder.

  • Full ReShade Removal: Delete the following files and folders from the bin_ship directory to return to the vanilla state:

    - reshade-shaders (folder)

    - ReShade.ini

    - ReShade.log

    - ReShadePreset.ini
