📋 About This Mod
A story add-on integrated into the main campaign. You were told to survive, to run, to serve a greater cause. You did. Now the road turns north again, to a castle wearing another house's banners, and to a question you have carried since the
RECKONING OF HIGHEVER
"Every bloodline has its reckoning. Highever fell in fire and betrayal, but its stories and its legacy are far from over."
Like many players, I was always bothered by the fact that Bioware never gave us a real chance to stand our ground, defend our parents, and fight to the bitter end before fleeing Castle Cousland - nor were we ever given the opportunity to return later in the campaign to reclaim what was stolen from us. Reckoning of Highever is a fully voiced adventure created specifically to correct that flaw and give the Cousland story the resolution it always deserved.
Overview
The mission is simple - retake Castle Cousland.
This mod is connected to my previous adventure, The Damned King. While Reckoning of Highever can be played as a standalone experience, playing it without The Damned King means missing out on certain story callbacks and incomplete equipment set bonuses - as some pieces of the item sets originate from the previous mod.
Introduces a unique item property.
Аdventure Activation & Timing (IMPORTANT!)
• Thе adventure is strictly tailored for the Human Noble (Cousland) origin path.
• How to Start: The adventure becomes active after you receive the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest and agree to begin the search for the Urn.
• Dead Time: The adventure must be completed before you travel to Denerim with Eamon for the Landsmeet. If it is still unfinished at that point, the castle can no longer be retaken !
Hints & Tips
• Initial Encounter: Keep the Cousland Guard alive during the first battle in the encounter area so you can continue the adventure.
• Navigation: If you are ever unsure where to proceed next, always check the minimap.
• Save the Servants Quest: To extinguish the fire in the chapel, use the three water barrels - two located outside and one inside the chapel.
• Cousland Gold Quest: Look for the Cousland Crest inside one of the rooms in the castle.
• The Still Point: Unfaltering - grants immunity to stun, knockback, and sleep.
• Item Set Bonus: The Still Point, when paired with The One Ring from The Damned King, grants an exceptionally powerful set bonus.
• The Damned King Sequence: If you played the previous adventure, The Damned King, and finished with a romance with either of the two queens, expect an interesting visit near the end of this adventure.
Compatibility
• Fully compatible with Awakening, as well as any other mods that do not overwrite Arl Eamon's dialogue.
• Reserved string IDs: 1383980000 – 1384029999
Recommended Mods
• Lyrium Memory Handler - strongly recommended!
• Qwinn's Ultimate DAO Fixpack
