Just a Launcher Redesigned

The name says it all - it's just a game's launcher changer. I've made it for myself but thought I share it with you - if at least one person will use it, it was worth the effort of uploading it (and it's really a big effort, 'cause I'm one lazy bum). Download file contains six launcher versions (to be precise, two designs both in three "color variations"). I got rid of the "support", "website" and "exit" buttons, there are also no "news". Well, that's all, folks.

Maybe not the best way to promote my own mod, but it's better just to download Skip the Launcher mod by Ashhawk and get rid of the launcher entirely. But if you'd like to try my mod, be my guest!

As of version 1. 1, you can download optional file with special button "Play (Console)" - it launches the game with developer console enabled. The idea and fragments of code come from DAO launcher redesigned mod by Parochy. In this version I got rid of the "Documentation" button, 'cause it's unnecessary.

PS I've almost forgotten - just as the original launcher, my redesign works with all supported languages. Probably obvious, but better to state it here.

Installation:

- go to your DAO installation directory, open "data" folder and make a backup of original "DAOriginsLauncher.xml" file and "launcher" folder (add "bck" to their names, for example)

- download and extract the archive into temporary location

- now for the hardest part - you have to choose which of my fantastic creations you'd like to use. Open one of the folders ("paper" or "no-paper") and drag/drop .xml file and ONE of the "launcher" folders into your DAO "data" folder, then rename that pasted folder so it'd be named just "launcher"

- go to the original, now renamed "launcher" folder and copy "background.wma" and "click.wav" files then paste them into modded "launcher" folder (I didn't include them in the .zip file for minimum file size).

- launch Dragon Age Origins and have fun!

"fantastic creations" is a purely subjective term and you may or may not find them fantastic. If you'll find them rather ugly and poor-quality, delete them to hell and just forget about them ASAP.

Uninstallation:

So, you really did find them ugly and poor-quality... Sob... Well, delete modded "launcher" folder and "DAOriginsLauncher.xml" file then change names of backup vanilla file and folder to their original values. Finito!
