BACKGROUND: \"They planted a tree in the middle of the alienage long ago. Today it stands tall, healthy and green in sharp contrast to the city around it. For we are the poorest of the poor, the unwanted and the unwelcome huddled on the other side of the wall that separates us from the human part of the city.\" The history of the Elven people is riddled in desperation and sadness, and a hint of that has always been lost in the generic faces that inhabit the Alienage of Denerim. Bioware, making a massive game, ended up leaving the elves with little distinction, giving even the major characters such as Soris, Valendrian, Cyrion, etc., nearly identical faces. This mod set out to change all of that. This mod brings the grimy poverty and desperation into the Alienage, painting a darker, gray portrait of the conditions that the City Elves must face. Don\'t misinterpret the mod, however. The goal is primarily REALISM, not just making every character as ugly as possible. There are still some VERY good looking characters (especially your betrothed in the Origin!), and even the more downtrodden characters are still eye-pleasers, underneath their craggy, muddy flesh. SO WHAT DOES THIS MOD DO? This mod edits the faces of nearly every elf in the Alienage, both in the Origins background story as well as the \"Unrest in the Alienage\" questline. This mod removes the near identical elves that are divided only by hair style and replaces them individually with a \"hand-crafted\" replacement that brings true to life the world in which they live in as well as the individual\'s personality. I intentionally chose to not touch the character Shianni, as I feel she is an iconic character and she looks good enough that there\'s not much I could change. Other characters, such as Soris, were so horribly generic that I had to completely overhaul them. The goal here wasn\'t to reinvent the wheel, or draw too much attention to any one character.
