Alistair's Proposal

I didn't like the fact that the only way to marry Alistair was if he became king and if the Warden announced it in the middle of the Landsmeet. While that may be appropriate in certain circumstances, in others I felt it was less so. For a game that put so much effort into relationships and romance, it wasn't very romantic. I know that I expected a proposal at the end of the game if the Warden and Alistair were still together. So I made this for myself and expanded it for release.

The mod will add an optional cutscene to Alistair's post-coronation dialogue under two sets of conditions:

First, if Alistair was not made king at the Landsmeet and is 'in love', meaning in an active romantic relationship and is at 'love' approval, with a female warden of any race or origin.

Second, if Alistair was made king at the Landsmeet and in 'in love', meaning in an active romantic relationship and is at 'love' approval, with a Female Human Noble and he is not engaged to Anora. The Warden can already be engaged to him, but if engaged he still must be 'in love' for the scene to trigger.

Note If a Female Human Noble warden did not get engaged to a king Alistair at the Landsmeet, the proposal in this mod will trigger the 'marriage' epilogue slides, the 'wife' dialogue in Awakening, and Dahlialynn's The Royal Wedding cutscene. It provides a true alternative to announcing the engagement at the Landsmeet.

There are generally two ways to handle this type of scene, either use existing dialogue from the game or not use any dialogue at all. Sometimes using game dialogue can work, although in my opinion, not in this case, and it's rather difficult to have a proposal without dialogue since the whole point is he 'asks' her to marry him. So I came up with a solution of sorts... I have Alistair talking, close enough to the camera that you can see him speaking, facial animations and gestures but you wouldn't be able to hear him.

The benefit to this is that the proposal can be whatever you want it to be. You can make up whatever you want him to say, whatever you think he would say or since I obviously wrote dialogue for the scene for him to lip sync, you can enable subtitles under the 'Game' tab on the game's 'Options' menu and read what I have him saying or you can simply observe the scene. It is up to you.

The cutscene will cut off the rest of Alistair's post-coronation dialogue. I can't imagine that he or the Warden would want to talk about the ritual just after or just before becoming engaged.
