Elven Circle Mage 2.0

Uninstall this while you're playing any background other than circle elf. Especially human mage, as a lot of the things I had to change will specifically break human mage dialogue if you play with this installed.

The dialogue part of this mod is Frosty only, as the Frosty editor can handle the more detailed tweaks I had to do to several conversations, while copying these over to the ModManager just lead to crashing.

Choose elf and mage as usual at the start of the game. If the talktables are not being used/are being overwritten, it will still show up as Dalish Mage. Just go with it, once you start talking to people it should be fine.

02/02/2026 Update: Talk tables are now a Frosty mod! Hopefully that fixes some of the issues people were having? One of the war table's Action->Result entries might be the wrong way around, as they're identical in the base game so I can't tell which one links to which. I am testing it now.

Regarding talk of the mod not working because it's 5 years old: The game had been stable for years before I even made the first version of this mod, so there's no reason for it to become outdated. Still, I have posted new versions via the latest stable release of Frosty, and tested them today, and they both work fine.

Additionally, project files have been uploaded under optional files so those who wanted to try tweaking this background to their OC or making other background changes can play to their heart's content with them

What it does:

• []Changes the dialogue so that while you're still treated as an elven mage, you are not treated as Dalish but instead as a member of the Ostwick Circle.

  []Optional: Change the War Table and Codex entries to reflect your new origins.

  What it doesn't do:

  • []Take away the valaslin requirement. For that, I recommend No Tattoo Option for Elves

    What I hope to do in the future:

    • []Currently, Hub 2 files are incompatible with MRM Cassandra, Cullen, Dorian and Solas due to them having a file in common. Only really a problem for Dorian, since for everyone else MRM can be uninstalled after the romance is initiated. I want to make them compatible, but I'd need permission from a creator who's not around often anymore. I've asked but no reply.

    • Add an optional conversation where you can talk to Jose about life in the circle as in the human origin.

      I have also included the talktable editing document in case anyone wishes to make their own changes/translations. My version is only available in English.
