Hair Mash-ups with sample projects and tutorial

Special thank you to larkinna for bringing the topic of hair mashing up in a conversation and sending me down this rabbit hole.

These mods make use of the beard slot to allow Rooks to equip two hairstyles at once to slightly extend our character customisation capabilities.

Right now, you can pick from:

• []Qunari long straight hair replacing beard #1 (supported for all races, not just the Qunari)[/]

  []Flynn hair replacing beard #4 (note: if you get crashes in Minrathous while using this replacer, please try the fix in the optional files; if that doesn't help, please let me know!)[/]

All mods can be installed at the same time. Note that the first three ones are bundle-free and compatible with other swap mods, but Morrigan's hair includes a description file edit. For clarity, I made sure to replace the beard icons with their corresponding hairstyles, including some icons I made for the NPC Hairs for Rook - No Swap Library mod.

A few other notes:

• []If you want to use both the Morrigan hair mash and my Silver Streaks Morrigan, make sure you use the new silver streak mod version uploaded on June 11th, 2026 to avoid broken hair for either Rook or Morrigan[/]

  []If you want to use the Qunari Long Straight mash-up along my Hair Down Taash mod, make sure to go to that mod's page and grab the version uploaded on June 15th, 2026 to avoid broken hair for either Rook or Taash[/]

  []You’ll need access to facial hair in the CC to make the mash-ups work. If you are playing as an elf, you can use DAVE to temporarily switch your Rook’s lineage to human or dwarf. You are free to switch it back to elf once you are done (the beard-hair will stick around). [/]

• []The mashed hair will tint like a beard. Sometimes, the colour won’t apply immediately and will flicker while you are switching between CC screens. If that happens, try adjusting the colour of the main hairstyle - that usually does the trick[/]

  []DO NOT equip the same hairstyle as a beard and the main hair. It can cause crashes upon exiting the CC or loading a save file. [/]
