I highly recommend using this with Kaibz mod and using its melee swapper with keep charges activated, the mod still functions without it but the changes were balanced with it in mind.

GENERAL CHANGES

Glory strikes no longer drop ammo, and instead give you a melee charge.

Parries now drop a mini melee charge like those dropped from impaler headshots, these drop from the demon so if you parry a projectile from afar you will have to close the distance to collect it.

MELEE WEAPON CHANGES

Gauntlet changes:

First and second strike damage went from 1000 and 3000 to both being 2000.

Third and fourth strikes damage is now 14000 for both, changed from 12000 for the third strike and 16000 for the fourth.

Reasoning for changes: the gauntlet changes are pretty minor and don't mean much, the gauntlet is still high commitment and high pay off, any difference in playstyle with it is from the other changes.

Flail changes:

Now has 4 charges.

Now deals 3100 damage (3000 splash damage, 100 direct) up from the original 2100 (2000 splash damage, 100 direct)

Many damage resistances have been changed, so it now deals normal damage against imps, hell knights and whiplashes, and additional damage to imp stalkers (5x damage) and battle knights (1. 1x damage)

I think the cooldown may have been decreased? I honestly don't remember.

Reasoning for changes: these changes kind of transform the weapon into the "general use" melee, its low commitment, deals pretty good damage and gives armor to boot. since glory strikes now give melee charges, learning to throw in a flail hit before a demon gets dazed for the free ammo and armor is a good skill to have.

Dreadmace changes:

Aoe damage has been decreased from 5000 to 3000 and upgraded aoe from 10000 to 6000.

Due to a bug I am too stupid to fix it gets no extra melee charge from glory strikes, which is actually fine since I was gonna decrease its recharge rate anyways.

Reasoning for changes: this is the one I'm most iffy on, I did the changes at like 4 am while deathly tired, and had about a whole 30 minutes of testing to make sure it functioned. but it theoretically should make the dreadmace more about spending all your melee charges on stunning an entire group of demons and/or hitting one really hard while also restoring all ammo. so basically a get out of jail free card, but not in the bfc clear the entire arena instantly way.

Probably still overpowered as the dreadmace is truly the most horrifically unbalanced weapon to ever grace the doom franchise.

Shield charge changes:

Now deals 4. 5x damage to stalker imps.

Reasoning for changes: I really wanted shield charge into flail or gauntlet to put the imp into daze, and because of this change that can be reality.

As a final note I actually finished this mod nearly a month ago but due to a combination of thumbnail goofs (once upon a time an actual artist was going to make the thumbnail!) and me completely losing interest in modding the dark ages I just never bothered to post it, until now of course. So if theres any changes not listed here its because I forgot.
