📋 About This Mod
fixes the tposing animations that can occur when using my player swap mod while also allowing for overrides.
Missing Animation Fallback — a companion for Player Model Swap.
When you swap the player character for a Digimon, the game often asks that model to play a player-only animation it does not own. The result is a broken bind / T-pose. This mod catches those missing-animation requests and substitutes a safe, native motion the model actually has — so your swapped Digimon keeps moving naturally instead of freezing into a T.
How it works
-
[]Hooks the game's animation playback and asks the game's own lookup whether the requested motion really exists.[/]
[]Only a genuinely missing motion is replaced. Valid native, patched, DLC, and dynamically loaded animations are never touched.[/]
[]Missing requests are classified by role (idle, movement, gesture, cutscene) and remapped to an ordered list of native fallback motions.[/]
[]The chosen fallback is cached per model and role, so resource load order can't make a character flicker between motions mid-session.[/]
What's included
Out of the box it enables Guilmon (chr090) only, preferring calm field/neutral idles and using a battle idle as a last resort. Everything is driven by an editable AnimationFallbacks.json in the mod folder — you can add profiles for other Digimon yourself. JSON comments and trailing commas are allowed. Restart the game after editing.
Advanced (optional): overriding existing animations
By default valid animations are left alone. If you want to replace animations a character already has, it's double-gated for safety:
-
[]Turn on Enable Advanced Character Overrides in the mod's Reloaded II config.[/]
[]Add "overrideExisting": true to the matching rule in AnimationFallbacks.json.[/]
Requirements
- [
[
]Reloaded. Memory. SigScan. ReloadedII and Reloaded SharedLib Hooks (Reloaded II auto-downloads these as dependencies)[/][
]Optional but recommended: Player Model Swap — this mod exists to fix that one's animation gaps[/]Installation
- [
[
]Drag and drop the zip on the reloaded window.[/][
]Enable "Missing Animation Fallback" in Reloaded II and let it fetch its dependencies.[/][
]Launch the game through Reloaded II.[/]Notes
This is experimental. It stops the T-pose problem; it does not retarget facial expressions or look-at bones — those remain a separate, unsolved problem. Feedback on which Digimon still need profiles is welcome.
In theory the mod can be used to enable fully custom animation replacements but I do not know how to create the assets needed to test that theory.
