Designed originally to be a replacement for Paul Siramy's similar error-checking tool, d2rlint has ballooned to become an important modding tool. This is in part due to how Diablo II: Resurrected handles errors. Instead of throwing an error message or allowing for bugged behavior to continue, the game will unceremoniously crash, often due to very simple things such as bad linkage in the .txt files.

d2rlint can detect (nearly) all kinds of failures that you might not even notice. Almost 1000 types of errors are checked, most of them either being fields out of range, bad fields being linked up, or other kinds of errors.

On top of this, d2rlint also has the ability to generate documentation for your mods. By enabling a flag in the configuration file, you will get pages detailing the following aspects of your mod:

  []Gems and Runes

  []Unique Items

  []Sets

  []Cube Recipes

  []Runewords

Keep in mind that the documentation feature is still in a very W. I. P. state - you'll sometimes encounter weird things using it. For the most part though, it's functional and has been used by mods such as Eastern Sun.
