ZG2 Zugschlusstafeln (Train End Boards)

Ever seen those red-and-white reflective boards on the back of trains in Germany? They're called Zugschlusstafeln — literally "train end boards" — and every train is required to carry one. This mod brings that real-world railway regulation into Derail Valley.

What Is This?

In German railway operations, every train must display a Zugschlusstafel on its rearmost car. It's a simple safety device: the board tells everyone on the tracks that nothing else is coming behind this train.

ZG2 adds these boards as physical items you can pick up, carry, and attach to your trains. Forget to put one on? You'll get fined.

How It Works

1. Find a board — A few boards of each type spawn at every station, right next to where you pick up job booklets. You can also buy extras from the station shop for $500.

2. Attach it — Pick up a board and attach it to car on your train using the gadget placement system. No special tools needed — just place it and you're good.

3. Run your job — As long as the mod detects a board on your train at some point during the job, you're in the clear. Only FH and LH jobs need those mounted.

4. Get paid (in full) — Complete the job and collect your full wage, no deductions.

There are two board variants: a small board and a large board. Both work exactly the same — pick whichever you like.

What Happens If You Forget?

If you complete a job without ever having a board on your train:

- A fine is deducted from your job earnings — by default, 30% of the job wage.

- It appears as a debt in your career terminal, just like any other fee.

- You'll get an on-screen notification letting you know what happened.

Abandoned jobs don't count — you'll only be fined when you actually complete a job without a board.

Settings

You can tweak the mod to your liking through the Unity Mod Manager settings panel:

- Penalty percentage — How harsh the fine is. Default is 30% of the job wage. Set it to 0% to disable fines entirely, or crank it up to 100% if you want to live dangerously.

- Boards per station — How many boards of each type spawn at every station. Default is 2 of each.

- Show Map Markers — If the mounted Boards should mark your end of Train on the ingame map.

- Check interval — How often the mod checks your train for boards. Default is every
