By a stroke of serendipity, I partnered with LittleNiko36 to remaster the legendary FEF-3 steam locomotive. (Though I initially aimed to develop the GS-4, LittleNiko36 had already completed the bulk of that project.) In my spare time, I crafted my very first American steam locomotive: the iconic Union Pacific FEF-3 No. 844—a masterpiece that reignited my passion for the steam era’s awe-inspiring grandeur.

I’m thrilled to collaborate with LittleNiko36 on this endeavor, fostering deeper creative synergy within our modding community. FEF-3 No. 844 Steam Locomotives

The Union Pacific Railroad’s iconic FEF-3 steam locomotive—a masterpiece built in 1944 by American Locomotive Company (ALCO) as part of a 4-8-4 wheel arrangement series. Among these, the legendary No. 844 remains in active operation today as a fully preserved historical exhibit, embodying the enduring legacy of America’s steam era.

This mod features two meticulously crafted FEF-3 locomotives, each offering two distinct paint schemes for seamless customization. Choose your preferred livery to experience the power and elegance of these engineering marvels in your virtual railroading journey.

"Greyhound" 1946

April 1946: FEF #809 became the first locomotive to receive a two-tone gray paint scheme, initially featuring Silver Gray stripes and lettering.

June to October 1946: As Union Pacific began receiving new yellow streamlined passenger cars, passenger department officials recommended changing the gray locomotives' stripes to yellow to better match the new cars.

August 1946: The 800-series steam locomotives began receiving the two-tone gray paint scheme with yellow stripes.
