Some history:
The LMS 8Fs were one of the most numerous locomotives ever built in the UK, the design came about to introduce a new standard heavy freight engine for the London-Midland-Scottish Railway (LMS) under the new Chief Mechanical Engineer (CME), Sir William Stanier.

the WD in total would order 208, with a further 245 being ordered by the Railway Executive Committee.
Production of the locomotives would slow down in 1943 when the cheaper WD Austerity 2-8-0 was introduced, despite this, a total of 852 would be built.
Their wartime service would see them go as far as the Middle East, with many being located around Egypt and Türkiye.
They were well liked by their crews, being hard working, capable machines that could handle any of the freight duties they were placed on.
By the end of the war, many returned to the UK, however several would be obtained by the nation they were serving in, with examples operating as part of the Turkish Egyptian, Greek and Iranian railways, along with others.
The ones that returned to the UK would be
