To prevent unauthorized usage of derail valley property, management installed new anti-theft systems into all diesel powered locomotives over the last couple of weeks. This system has now been enabled. Effective immediately, all DE-2 and DE-6 locomotives are now equipped with a keyless entry system.

The proximity chip is integrated into your new high visibility vest that you've received within the last week.

When you buy a license for the DE-6 at the career manager, your key is automatically updated with the appropriate usage permissions immediately.

The system works fully transparently. When you enter your locomotive, the engine will automatically start up if the key is authorized. It will also shut down your locomotive again if you leave it. The system includes the latest "Artificial Intelligence Determination for Shutdown" that will automatically determine whether it is safe to turn the engine off or not. The current configuration ensures an engine is only shut down if all of the conditions below are met:

• []no cars coupled to locomotive

  []no cars in coupling range

  []independent brake is applied at least 90%

  []locomotive is not paired to a remote

  []locomotive is stationary (movement less than 1km/h)

  []Reverser is in center (neutral) position

  The system allows customization by each employee
