DERAILROADER (RR2DV)

Convert Railroader's base-game steam locomotives into Derail Valley locomotives.

Derailroader reads the steam locomotive assets already installed with your copy of Railroader, rebuilds them for Derail Valley's Custom Car Loader (CCL 3. 1. 9), audits the result, and installs the finished pack into your Derail Valley Mods folder.

It does not modify your Railroader installation, extract Railroader audio, or distribute Railroader code or artwork.

Derailroader currently supports Railroader's 21 base-game steam locomotives. It is still in development, and a successfully built pack should be treated as a candidate until its controls and handling have been checked in game.

INSTALLATION

1. Install Railroader and Derail Valley.

2. Set up Derail Valley modding with:

  3. Install the conversion tools:

    []Python 3. 11 or later with Tk[/]

    4. Download the Derailroader source archive from this Nexus page, extract the whole folder, and run:

    Launch Derailroader.bat

    5. In Derailroader, open Settings -> Check, confirm the detected paths, and click Save. If anything is missing, browse to the required executable or package manually.

    PERSONAL USE AND LEGAL NOTICE

    Converted locomotive packs are built from files already present in your own Railroader installation.

    The Railroader source assets remain the property of the Railroader developers and other relevant rights holders. Converted packs are for your own personal use and must not be shared without permission from the relevant rights holders.

    Derailroader itself contains and distributes no Railroader code or artwork. It reads only the source files already installed on your computer, does not modify your Railroader installation, and is unofficial.

    The Derailroader code is released under PolyForm Noncommercial License 1. 0. 0. That licence covers Derailroader itself only and does not cover the Railroader content converted locally by users.

    Project repository

    Derailroader does not contain or redistribute Railroader locomotive models, textures, animations, audio or game code. Source assets are read locally from the user's own installed copy of Railroader.

    Railroader source assets and modelling:

    Railroader is developed by Giraffe Lab LLC. All Railroader source assets remain the property of their respective creators and rights holders.

    Asset-specific credits found in Railroader's installed definitions/catalogues:

    - Elijah Gooden - S-23, S-51, C-46, C-55, K-28T, B-65, T-21 and P-48; S-23, C-46 and T-21 tenders; Commonwealth trucks; GP9 and SW1.

    - Kyle Gabba - G-16, S-51 and K-28T.

    - Chris Currao - Reading 6-Chime whistle definition. The source metadata does not specify the exact credited role.

    - Jeff - SW1, alongside Elijah Gooden. The installed definition gives only the name "Jeff".

    Railroader's general credits separately list Jeff Senaratne among the 3D modelers, but Derailroader does not assume those entries refer to the same person without explicit source attribution:
