Simulate proper rail accident recovery and salvage with the breakdown crane! Rerailing will only be possible with the crane nearby, and if you don't have it, hope you have the money to keep going to unlock it!
The crane costs $28000 to unlock via CCL Work Trains menu, and optionally can be delivered to its delivery location in Harbor or to your nearest location upon purchasing. The trainset consists of a support flatcar and the crane itself. The complete trainset is required to enable rerailing, that is both cars are present and coupled in the correct orientation.
You can also disable the rerail restriction and own the crane just-to-have, but then where's the fun in that?
