📋 About This Mod
Through the 1980s, British Rail was split into independant sectors, with freight operations given their own independant entity with dedicated rolling stock and branding - Railfreight. This was further divided in 1987, when Railfreight was split based on traffic types - Trainload Freight for bulk cargo, Railfreight Distribution for containers, and Railfreight General for wagonload trains.
The liveries for these are all recreated in this pack for the DH4, along with those given to engineering departmental locomotives.
Requires Skin Manager
Two versions are available:
- []Number Manager - Skins with changable numbers using Number Manager. Will have blank numbers if loaded without.
-
[]Static numbers - Skins with static numbers. Does not require Number Manager.
Liveries included:
Railfreight Red Stripe (1982) - The original Railfreight livery for locomotives with a solebar, like the DH4.
Railfreight Grey (1982) - A variation of Railfreight livery for monocoque locomotives without a solebar. Technically unsuited for the DH4, but I just really like it.
Sector Petroleum (1987) - Trainload Freight's livery for bulk oil trains. Depot plaque for Ripple Lane.
Sector Construction (1987) - Trainload Freight's livery for bulk stone, aggregate and sand trains. Depot plaque for Buxton.
Sector Metals (1987) - Trainload Freight's livery for bulk steel trains. Depot plaque for Thornaby.
Sector Coal (1987) - Trainload Freight's livery for bulk coal trains. Depot plaque for Eastfield.
Sector Distribution (1987) - Railfreight Distribution's livery for container trains and also (from 1989) wagonload ("Speedlink") trains. Depot plaque for Stewarts Lane.
Sector General (1987) - Railfreight General's short-lived livery, which handled the remainder of freight such as bulk china clay and wagonload trains. Was merged into Railfreight Distribution in 1989. Depot plaque for Saint Blazey.
RfD (1992) - Updated Railfreight Distribution livery, inspired from French SNCF livery as the Channel Tunnel was being constructed. Depot plaque for Stratford.
General Grey (1988) - Short-lived departmental livery
A cosmetic skin pack for the DH4 locomotive, adding 1980/90s British Rail freight liveries. Requires Skin Manager, with an optional Number Manager. Small but active mod with 7 endorsements and recent updates.

For Train Simulator enthusiasts who want authentic 80s/90s BR freight liveries on the DH4. If you're into British Rail history and don't mind fiddling with Skin Manager, this is for you. Skip if you prefer modern traction or don't want to deal with extra tools.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure Skin Manager is installed and up to date before adding this pack, or the skins won't load.
- If you use Number Manager, install it after the skin pack to avoid conflicts with custom numbering.
- Check the mod's page for any specific load order instructions — some Train Sim mods need to be placed in a certain folder.
