What is GON3?

GON3 is a LUT that aims to recreate the warm and gritty visuals from Days Gone's E3 gameplay reveal trailer. It does not modify any of the in-game files, as this is merely a PNG LUT and only affects things on a color grading level.

What is its impact on performance? Will I lose FPS?

Short answer, no. Long answer, it should and will not by any means impact performance as it only makes use of reshade's integrated LUT system. No extra effects are used other than this, although I would recommend using other effects such as Quint's MXAO shader or NiceGuy's raytracing shader if you can afford it. Other than that though, this is all merely done with a simple image file and does not pose an impact on performance whatsoever.

INSTALLATION GUIDE - ReShade required.

1 - Download ReShade from https://reshade.me/

2 - Install ReShade into Days Gone by either using the shortcut on your desktop or manually looking for the .exe file in Days Gone\BendGame\Binaries\Win64.

3 - Unzip the GON3 LUT file, drag and drop the image within into Days Gone\BendGame\Binaries\Win64\reshade-shaders\Textures, then hit replace.

4 - Open up the ReShade menu by pressing the Home key on your keyboard and skip through the tutorial or sit through it if it's your first time using the program. Afterwards, look for the LUT (LUT.fx) effect in the Home tab.

5 - Enjoy the visual difference!

I only made this as a way to burn some time and mess around with this game's color balance. Whether or not this will receive any new updates in the future is uncertain, but if I do end up finding a way to mess around with the ENV files of this game, I might turn this into a full-fledged standalone mod.
