📋 About This Mod
Music from the Arena Soundtrack (slightly Remixed) that didn't subsequently make it into Daggerfall's Soundtrack, but does now if you use DIAAMM and/or the Dynamic Music mod.
There are actually 3 packs. The first is the main mod that only includes those tracks that didn't (as far as I can tell) make it into Daggerfall, and is for use with both Dynamic Music AND Dynamic Immersive Ambience And Music Mix together, these are (mostly) with ambient backgrounds and the download is formatted to go into DIAAMM's folders. The second is just a resource of those same tracks, all without the ambience, for use with the Dynamic Music mod only, though you'll have to place them in the DM's DynMusic subfolders of your choice depending on your setup. The third is another straight resource pack, but of ALL the Arena music (in very high quality .ogg and .mp3 formats) for your easy listening enjoyment or to do with as you wish regards personal use (see the mod's permissions for other uses of all these files).
All the tracks in whichever pack have been remixed slightly to give them a warmer, more full and bassy sound with a moderate amount of reverb added, in an attempt to make them closer to the orchestral and acoustic tracks I used in DIAAMM and to make them sound somewhat less "synthesized". I also extended a fair few of the tracks (and truncated one very long track that basically just repeated itself), and I've sparingly added the odd subtle effect and flourish here and there to further liven things up a bit.
I didn't include these directly in DIAAMM because they technically aren't orchestral or acoustic like the rest of the music in that mod, so I've released them here separately so that others can add them to their game if they wish - I think they fit in quite nicely, but you should probably be the judge of that. There are orchestral remakes of the Arena soundtrack out there, but getting permission to use them is easier said than done … maybe one day I'll be able to add them, but who knows when that might be so these will more than do for now.
All credit goes to the original composer Ted Heberling, I just zhuzhed them up a bit. I used the FM MSDOS version of the Arena Soundtrack as the basis for this one, it was created for the CD-ROM re-issue of the game (I think when Daggerfall first came out), the original FLOPPY-DISC version used General MIDI files with a slightly different arrangement that sounded way more synthesised so I deemed them not suitable for this project, though they do have their own old-school-crpg charm I just don't think they would fit as well into Daggerfall.
