WHAT IS THIS MOD?

This mod adds several ways of receiving social quests in Daggerfall Unity.

• []When you enter any building with any number of pre-generated NPC questors, one of them will randomly approach you to offer their quest.

  []If there are no NPC questors and the building is a Tavern, there is still a chance for someone in a building to offer you a new social quest whenever you enter. After that, every hour you loiter in the Tavern also has a chance for a random social quest.

This gives the player an alternative way to experience social quests in an immersive manner without having to randomly click on NPCs in taverns and shops or endure the nasty rebuffs of commoners on the status of their employment or lack thereof. This is not a call for help.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

If there is a pre-generated NPC questor inside a building the player enters, they will automatically approach the player and offer a quest. If not, then the mod checks if the building is a tavern and rolls whether a random NPC in the building will offer a quest. Every hour spent in a tavern while not sleeping will also check for a chance of a quest offering.

This chance is affected by several factors:

• []Base chance (default 5%, configurable in Mod Settings)

  []Bonus chance depending on the number of "failed" quest offer rolls (default 5%, stacks 5 times by default, both configurable in Mod Settings)

  []Regional legal reputation (+1% chance for every 2 points of reputation)

  []Personality (+1% chance for every 5 points of PER)

  []Luck (+1% chance for every 10 points of LUK)

  []At night (6PM to 6AM), the chance is halved

The quest-giver is randomly selected from the NPCs inside the tavern. If the quest-giver is of the Commoner social group, you will receive a random Commoner quest, taking stuff like character level and reputation requirements into account as usual. By the same metric, Noble and Merchant quest-givers will give you Nobles and Merchants quests.

OTHER SETTINGS

[]PREFERRED GENDER - This makes it more likely to receive quests from NPCs of specific (and relative) genders. For roleplaying purposes, of course. Does not affect Virtual NPCs created by Foreign Questors (see next bullet point)

[]ENTRY QUESTORS - Enabled by default. Disable this if you do not want Questors offering you their quests when entering a building.

[*]FOREIGN QUESTORS - An experimental feature disabled by default. This allows quest-givers to be generated randomly instead of picked from existing NPCs when you receive a quest while loitering in a tavern. These "virtual" NPCs can be from a different building or even a different location. So if a quest requires you to
