It's Crash Mcfly! A scrapped skin brought back to life by a team of 3 passionate 3D artists in the Crash community, modded into Crash 4 for your playing pleasure!

Designed by Oritey ( https://twitter.com/oritey ) , a concept artist for Crash 4, this skin went by the developmental name of 'Mcfly'. While the outfit does not match perfectly in shape or color, it is a very clear reference to Marty Mcfly, one of the main character of the Back to the Future franchise. It's a game about time travel, it just makes sense! Upon seeing it, two of the contributors of this mod, Thunderous and Gravilla, had a strong desire to bring it to life for rendering purposes in February (and Sike joined in because why not?). And with the PC release of Crash 4 coming sooner than ever expected, being able to share that joy of creation with the rest of the world was the next step.

This mod was a grueling 17 day cycle taking up 90% of the freetime of all 3 creators due to the infancy of Crash 4 modding. Things still need to be ironed out due to currently unsolved problems in the community, but workarounds have been put into place to make it a visually enjoyable experience nonetheless. For those curious, here is some information below:

Skeleton - Due to broken exports, the skeleton in this current time has not had a fix found. And believe me, WE TRIED. Sike specifically spent almost the entire time modding just trying to fix the skeleton, but in the end, complications just out of her control made it an unreachable task. Because of this, currently Crash Mcfly lacks eyelids. On the bright side, he still looks good as ever! The teeth were also an issue, but some sneaky weightpainting fixed this problem.

Fur - Due to an oversight, we spent an embarrassingly long time fixing the fur too. For those of you aspiring modders out there, check the import scaling. Please.

Other - Overall, besides a loss of sanity, it's worth mentioning there were 80+ versions of this mod before V1. 0 . Yep, nearly 100. And remember, this all is just the modding. We spent a few days on the model itself beforehand. I think it's safe to say we put alot of care into this! We hope it was enough for you to be able to enjoy it.
