Hamas Rocket Attack October 2022

It is a typical escalation cycle, October 16th, 2022. Over the past several weeks, Israeli intelligence services have tracked increased militant activity across the Gaza Strip, including the movement of mobile rocket launch platforms and the stockpiling of short- and medium-range projectiles. Signals intelligence and aerial surveillance indicate that a coordinated rocket barrage by Hamas is imminent, likely aimed at civilian population centers and key military installations in southern Israel. You are in command of Nevatim Airbase, one of the Israeli Air Force’s most important installations in the Negev. You hold the rank of Aluf Mishne (Colonel), responsible for base operations, air defense coordination, and rapid response under active threat conditions. While higher command will dictate broader strategic objectives, you have direct control over Nevatim’s defensive and operational assets during the unfolding attack. Nevatim serves as a critical hub for pilot training and operational readiness. It is home to the 345th Training Squadron “Gurei Ariyot” and the 59th Training Squadron “Netziz”, collectively operating 6× F-16I multirole fighters. Current readiness is constrained: 2× F-16I are fully armed, fueled, and immediately available for combat tasking 4× F-16I are unarmed in training configuration and cannot be rapidly scrambled Your defensive network includes: -Several surface-to-air missile (SAM) batteries protecting the base and surrounding airspace -Multiple Iron Dome batteries, tasked with intercepting short-range rocket threats -2× David’s Sling systems, designed to counter heavier rockets and tactical ballistic threats At 14:40Z (13:40 local time), early warning systems detect multiple launch signatures from within the Gaza Strip. Within moments, radar confirms a coordinated salvo of rockets inbound toward southern and central Israel. Civil defense sirens activate as the first wave approaches. Your mission is narrowly defined and unforgiving: - Protect Nevat
