Gotland - The Surge

In 2027 with transatlantic relations at their lowest point in decades USA formally withdrew from NATO, with European NATO countries and Canada left in the treaty organization under the same name but very different balance of power. Now, in the autumn of 2028, both NATO and Russia has been rearming and reinforcing. Canada and European nations have invested heavily on defense and some procurement programs have actually finished on time and few even ahead of schedule. Russia still constrained by sanctions has nevertheless made significant efforts to replace its losses from the war in Ukraine. Russia is facing mounting internal turmoil with unrest spreading across multiple regions, and the Kremlin faces mounting instability at home.
