Battle of Khasham 2018

The Battle of Khasham, also known as the Battle of Conoco Fields, took place on February 7, 2018, near Khasham and Al Tabiyeh in Syria's Deir ez-Zor Governorate. The conflict involved Syrian government forces and Russian Wagner PMC mercenaries launching an unprovoked attack on a U. S. military and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) position. In response, the US lead coalition conducted air and artillery strikes, resulting in the deaths of approximately one hundred pro-government fighters. This event underscored the complex dynamics of the Syrian civil war and garnered attention due to its unconfirmed reports of casualties among Russian Wagner Group mercenaries, marking a notable clash involving citizens of Russia and the United States.
