Operation Golden Dragon

NOTE: Requires version 1285. 1, DB3k v496 One month ago, the Tiananmen Square protests ended. Operation Yellowbird, the extraction of Chinese dissidents via Hong Kong, along with the sanctions we have put in place have raised already high tensions significantly, and the PRC has made threatening moves towards Taiwan. Because of the nature and severity of the recent Chinese crackdown, the Taiwanese government is highly concerned with the possibility of a Chinese attack, suggesting that the US pre-emptively eliminates the PLA's forces in the Strait of Taiwan. While remaining non-comittal, the US, Japan, and Australia have formed an improptu coalition in order to protect Taiwanese sovereignty, with a RAAF squadron deploying to the area alongside 2 US carrier groups over the past week. In reaction, a Chinese ballistic missile submarine slipped its moorings approximately 24 hours ago, and in concert, the PRC government has made several threats towards both US and Japanese bases if they choose to intervene in any conflict between them and Taiwan. Most worryingly, we have recived actionable intelligance that the Chinese is planning a pre-epmtive strike, possibly a nuclear one. President H. W. Bush has deemed this unacceptable, and the coalition plan OPERATION GOLDEN DRAGON has been intiated. Good luck, Commander.
