Red Dragon #4B - Dragon and the sun

This is the B scenario, involving operations on the East China Sea, Japanese coast and Okinawa. It involves surface action between two fleets - Chinese Northern Theathre of operations units and JMSDF/JSDAF/USAF/USN - with support from land based aircraft. You can play as either side If you'd be so kind as to provide the losses/expenditures log I'd be grateful, it'd help in planning the next scenarios. If you want to play in editor mode in order to better select your starting weapons do so, but try to obey the ready times on A/C - The invasion took one bloody week and Taipei was yet to fall. PGM stocks were running low if not depleted. The US carriers were closing in and the JMSDF were rallying their ships east of Miyazaki. The ground war was a bloody quagmire, the crossing itself resulted in the loss of 13% of the flotilla, and the drive towards Taipei was a bloodbath, the surrounding hills swarming with infantry with TOW batteries picking off any PLA tanks that dared to appear. Although the PLAAF did an amazing job at DEAD, its stock of PGM had run out and it resorted to high altitude bombing in order to escape from the MANPADS threat. The international community was keenly against China this time, and the only thing preventing the UN from intervening was China’s seat at the council. However most were powerless to do anything other than complain. The US worked feverishly to gather up support for a coalition and in the end one, albeit a far cry from the ones involved in desert storm, was built. Australia and Japan would stand shoulder to shoulder with american forces in any action against China. With the enemy assembling their forces China didn’t have any time to wait. The Northern theatre command attacked Japan while the Eastern command sailed south to intercept the coalition carrier task force.
