As you look over yet another maintenance memorandum from your regimental aviation-technical officer, an armed courier escorted by two military policemen appears at your regimental headquarters. "Comrade Colonel. Priority packet from Division headquarters." Overhearing, your suddenly wide-eyed zampolit (political officer) joins you. He knows something. You open the heavy sealed envelope. Orders, maps, and a personal memo from the Aviation Division commander spill out onto the table already thick with half-eaten black bread and mugs of lukewarm tea.
