Sterett in the Gulf of Thailand, 1977

This scenario assumes that tensions between Vietnam and Thailand increased during the mid-1970s. Vietnam has threatened to attack shipping en route to and from Thai ports. The CIA is concerned that Vietnam may attack American-flagged merchant vessels. Being able to strike a blow against both America and Thailand would have a great deal of symbolic, if not practical, value to the Vietnamese government. And Vietnam believes America, especially an America led by Jimmy Carter, lacks the will to make any significant response to such acts. An American task force based around the cruiser Sterett has been dispatched to the Gulf of Thailand to keep an eye on things. ------------------------------------------------------- A delta template .ini file has been included in the .zip file to assist in updating the scenario to any future versions of the database.
