The ground war in Europe continues to be brutal and deadly, after Berlin and Copenhagen fell, the Danish Government collapsed but the Germans continue to govern out of Bonn. Danish air and naval forces are generally still fighting alongside NATO counterparts but they have taken heavy casualties. In the Pacific, 7th Fleet has opened a corridor to Japan through the Philippines and Taiwan, it is tenuous but holding. South Korea is still under constant air threat but some supply and reinforcements, heavily escorted have reached Busan. USS Constellation has retired to San Diego after sustaining heavy losses amongst her air group, which is now operating out of Clark Field. USS New Jersey was struck by 3 torpedoes but limped to Manila where it remains tied up, unlikely to put to sea again.
