Benny's Sweep, 1958

This scenario assumes that pro-Communist rebels operating in the Philippines during the 1950s were more successful than they were in history. By 1958, the rebels have seized control of part of the island of Luzon. Worse, the rebels are receiving aid from the Soviet Union, which hopes to trigger a Vietnam-like civil war in the Philippines. The situation is intolerable to the United States, but at the moment other international obligations mean that the only forces available to assist the government of the Philippines is a small task force based around the aircraft carrier Bennington. ------------------------------------------------------- A delta template .ini file has been included in the .zip file to assist in updating the scenario to any future versions of the database.
