BALTAP - Hunting in Skagerrak, 1983

The Soviet offensive is rolling over Denmark. They hit our naval forces in southern Norway and took out the coastal radar stations in Denmark and southern Norway. Currently the hostilities calmed down and there is no indication that they intend to invade southern Norway. Hence most of our available forces are disposed to defend northern Norway. A Soviet task group consisting of a Sverdlov-class cruiser, two oilers and several escorts is underway from the Baltic Sea to North Sea. Destroy the Soviet cruiser and the oilers before they can reach the North Sea. They must not team up with other Soviet naval forces currently operating in North Sea.
