CYH's Bohemia (Jan Zizka)

The Kingdom of Bohemia was a key player in medieval Central Europe. With its king serving as a prince-elector of the Holy Roman Empire and its capital of Prague becoming the Empire's imperial residence on multiple occasions, the region was closely bound to the complexities of continental politics. Bohemians were the flashpoint for early Christian reformation movements like the Hussites, as well as the trigger for the drawn-out Thirty Years'' War that resulted in an entirely new map of Europe. The mercenary general Jan Zizka is a Czech national hero and one of the greatest military commanders of history. Remembered for his innovation on the battlefield, he led the outnumbered Hussites against the entrenched might of the Holy Roman Empire and the Catholic Church. Using terrain, unorthodox tactics, and the element of surprise to his advantage, he never picked a fight without first ensuring he had the upper hand, and was a pioneer of guerrilla warfare. Zizka remained undefeated throughout his military career.
