📋 About This Mod
Press one button and the mod analyses your city and builds a complete bus network: stops on the right side of the road, loop lines that can really be driven, the right stop model for each place and a bus count that fits your depots.
One button. A complete bus network.
Building a bus network by hand means placing dozens of stops and drawing every line yourself. Auto Transit Planner does it for you: it studies your city, then builds the stops and lines through the game's own tools, exactly as if you had placed them.
It looks at where people live, where they work and study, where they shop and where they spend their free time, and connects those places with closed loop bus lines that can really be driven. Afterwards a message tells you how many buses and bus depots your whole network needs, so you can add depots and press the button again to grow it.
Installation instructions
1. Close the game.
2. Extract the zip into %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Colossal Order\Cities Skylines II\Mods\ so that you get ...\Mods\AutoTransitPlanner\AutoTransitPlanner.dll.
3. Start the game and load a city that has at least one bus depot.
4. Open Options > Mods > Auto Transit Planner and press "Plan and build bus stops and lines now". It takes a few seconds.
To update, replace the DLL. To uninstall, delete the AutoTransitPlanner folder; everything the mod built is a normal game object and stays in your city.
Main features
- Plans from real demand. Homes, workplaces, schools, shops and leisure places, including the commutes your citizens really make.
- Lines that can be driven. Respects one-way streets and disconnected roads. Every line is a closed loop and prefers fast main roads.
- Stops in the right place. On the correct side of the road for the driving direction, spaced so most residents have a stop within walking distance, and shared between lines where that makes sense.
- The right stop model. Busy stops and transfer points get a shelter, every other stop the cheapest model. Or pick one model for every stop in the options.
- Buses that fit your depots. The number of buses on each line is set through the game's own vehicle count slider, and the plan is fitted to what your bus depots can hold, so no line is left with a single bus.
- Tells you what is missing. After a run, a message shows how many lines, buses and bus depots the whole network would need.
- Options. Run automatically every 10 minutes, keep or remove old stops and lines, limit the plan to the depot capacity, bus stop type, shopping and leisure trips, walking distance, maximum number of lines, longest line.
Requirements
- Cities: Skylines II. No other mods are needed.
- At least one bus depot in your city. Without a depot the lines are built, but no buses run.
- Buses only for now. Taxis, trams and metro are not planned by the mod yet. Tourists, freight and the time of day are not taken into account.
- If something looks wrong, the log explains every decision of the planner: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Colossal Order\Cities Skylines II\Logs\AutoTransitPlanner.log
