Minimal HUD
Unfortunately no longer active in BL4 modding, and steps to get this mod to work have changed since my latest update. Below is the latest steps to get my mod to work, review comments for debugging. Cheers.
Latest instructions per some helpful users below (credit Wardone):
1. Rename the pak-files in each mod folder to: "Current mod/filename-Windows_999_P.pak"
(Like in his examples, "MinimalHUD-Windows_999_P.pak" and "DeathMarker-Windows_999_P.pak".. I made it work with "Show_Crosshair_Death_Marker-Windows_999_P.pak" as well, etc.
2. Take out the renamed pak-files from each folder and place them directly in OakGames/Content/Paks, leaving the "patch/mods" folder empty.
As of the latest patch make sure to change the Content/Paks/mods folder to something else, like patch. Mods will no longer work otherwise
Scales the HUD by a % (90 | 80 | 70 | 60 | 50). Base versions also hide the crosshair and the on kill death marker. Together significantly declutters the screen for added immersion (and clarity of enemies dying).
Optional Files
Each MinimalHUD scale has an optional version that adds back a more minimal crosshair that is smaller and more precise. Those alternate versions will be under miscellaneous files.
There are also separate stackable addons under optional files that you can install in addition to (or instead of) a MinimalHUD option:
-
[]Override_OnlyScale: Overrides the hiding of the crosshair and death marker in the base MinimalHUD version.\[/]
[]Override_ShowDeathMarker: Overrides the hiding of just the death marker in the base MinimalHUD version. So no crosshair but death marker on kill.[/]
[]Addon_HideXPGain: Hides the XP gain on kill (the white XP text (eg. 400XP) that shows up near the middle of the screen[/]
[]Addon_HideCompass: Hides the compass. Note: When in combat the compass converts into a enemy radar hybrid. Install Addon_HideRadar to disable that too.[/]
[]Addon_HideRadar: Hides the enemy radar that takes place of the compass during combat. [/]
[]Addon_HideNameplates: Hides enemy nameplates[/]
[]Addon_HideReloadPrompt: Hides the reload prompt that shows up at the center of screen.[/]
[]Addon_HideDeathMarker: Hides the death marker (big red X that shows in crosshair on kill).[/]
[]Addon_HideMissionTracker: Hides the mission tracker log that is always at the top left side of the screen during gameplay. Can still view missions / objectives via menu.[/]
[]Addon_MoveElements: Moves the Abilities and Stamina Gauge off center. Abilities move left above health bar, Stamina gauge (resource meter) moves right, above gun info. This is a WIP mod, it works great on Rafa at 4K on Scale70 but haven't tested much further. Update: Results definitely may vary on other resolutions and probably other classes, depending on chosen scale. Turns out the shifting is not uniform. I'll fix by request.[/]
To install, download the desired file, unpack and drag the folder into: ~{pathmayvary}\steamapps\common\Borderlands 4\OakGame\Content\Paks\patch
If it's your first time installing a mod you will need to create the patch folder
It doesnt need to be called patch specifically but it can no longer be called mods
Keep in mind the MinimalHUD mods do not stack. The Addon's do.
