Borderlands 4 Super Badass Edition (ReShade)

AFTER TODAYS PATCH (Sept 25, 2025):

I AM NOTICING RESHADE IS CAUSING A 20-30 FPS DROP.

UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED YOUR PERFORMANCE MAY BE IMPACTED

In the meantime if you have an NVIDIA CARD you can use built in NVIDIA GAME FILTERS Option.

1. Press ALT+Z to open the panel.

2. Click GAME FILTERS

3. Select / Add DETAIL, COLOR, BRIGHTNESS options.

4. Expand each option you selected (now added at the top of the list)

5. Use the following values to achieve something close to this ReShade

FILTER VALUES:

IF COLORS ARE TOO BRIGHT DROP VIBRANCE TO 20 OR SO.

MONITOR / DESKTOP COLOR SETTINGS CAN AFFECT THIS AND MAY NEED ADJUSTED.

Balanced out the Dark and Bright tones and increase the sharpness and vibrance.

There are 3 versions of this ReShade:

1. Original Version w/o any new tweaks.

2. Version 2. 0 w/ less dark shadows and further increased vibrance.

3. Version 3. 0 (Best IMO) Same as 2. 0 but with FakeHDR added and tweaked to remove some of the haze / fog.

IF YOU WANT LESS VIBRANT COLORS:

Press HOME to open Reshade settings.

-Under "prod80_04_ContrastBrightnessSaturation"

-Drop Saturation to a lower value.

-Drop Vibrance to a lower value.

Saturation has the biggest impact.

When installing RESHADE you will see 2 options for BORDERLANDS 4.

You need to select the one with the longer directory. It should be similar to the one below:

SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Borderlands 4\OakGame\Binaries\Win64\Borderlands4.exe

Reshade WILL NOT WORK if you choose the Borderlands4.exe located in the main directory.

Installation Steps:

1. Download the zip file

2. Extract the ReShade file (the INI file in the zip) to you Borderlands4 directory, or wherever you want.

3. Download ReShade and save where ever.

4. Install Reshade and select the Borderlands EXE file from the directory in red above

5. After click next, then select DX10/11/12, then click BROWSE at the bottom of Reshader installer

6. Select the INI file you extracted from the downloaded file.

7. Click NEXT and finish the install.

8. Load up the game and press HOME to access Reshades overlay if you want to tweak anything.

9. You can set a toggle button in the Reshade overlay to compare with Reshade On/Off.
