📋 About This Mod

Apex Legends style movement for Borderlands 4: auto sprint, momentum slides, air/tap strafe, heavier falls, and wall climbing with an automatic pull-up. Everything is adjustable, and every move can be turned off on its own.

WHAT IT DOES

Apex Movement reproduces the way you move in Apex Legends inside Borderlands 4. Every move has its own settings in the mod menu, and its own switch, except the movement speeds, which are adjusted without one:

  • []Movement — walk and sprint speeds were raised a little, to make moving around feel livelier.[/]

[]Auto sprint — you sprint as soon as the stick is pushed all the way, or as soon as you move forward on the keyboard.[/]

[]Omnidirectional slides — slides no longer only follow where you are aiming but where your character is moving, and the same goes for the slide you land a jump with. They are faster and longer than the game's, slowed by uphill slopes and carried by downhill ones. A slide after a jump no longer needs a sprint: with the full mod pack, a walking jump can land into a slide.[/]

[]Axle slide (off by default) — Axle's slide from Apex: you steer it with the stick, and it is boosted every time.[/]

[]Dash — goes further, a bit like Ash's, but at the game's own speed. Its length changes, not its speed.[/]

[]Ground slam — press jump and crouch together for a ground slam (the timing of the two presses can be a little off).[/]

[]Air/tap strafe — you change direction in the air almost at once, and you start and stop faster on the ground.[/]

[]Heavier fall — you come down faster, but your jumps are slightly higher than the game's: only the time in the air gets shorter.[/]

[]Wall climb — jump at a wall with the stick pushed toward it while looking at it: you climb up the wall, up to a height limit, straight up or diagonally at 60 degrees, and you pull yourself over the top.[/]

    WHAT IS ON AFTER INSTALLING

Everything except the Axle slide: it is a very particular move, so it waits for you in the menu.

The mod turns itself on the first time you launch the game after installing it.

Open the console with ~, type mods, pick Apex Movement. One line per move, and each line opens its switch and its adjustable settings: speeds, distances, climb height and speed, fall weight...

You can turn one move off and keep the others. Every setting says what it does, and gives the game's own value where there is one. The settings you change are kept the next time you launch the game.

The ground slam and the landing slide share one line of the menu, Ground slam and landing slide: they go through the same crouch key, so they are turned on and off together. Turned off, the key goes back to the game, slam on a held crouch included.

    REQUIREMENTS

The Borderlands 4 Python SDK (oak2-mod-manager). The mod will not load without it:

    https://github.com/bl-sdk/oak2-mod-manager/releases/latest

    INSTALLATION

    • []Install the Borderlands 4 Python SDK (link above), if you do not have it yet.[/]

[]Copy apex_movement.sdkmod into ...\Borderlands 4\sdk_mods\ (or only the files of the moves you want, see below).[/]

[]Launch the game. The mod is on.[/]

[]To change anything: console ~, command mods, Apex Movement.[/]

To uninstall: delete apex_movement.sdkmod from the sdk_mods folder. Nothing else to undo.

      ONE FILE PER MOVE

Only want one or two moves? Each one also comes as its own file, in the Files tab: Apex Speed (movement speeds), Apex Auto Sprint, Apex Slides (Axle slide included), Apex Dash, Apex Ground Slam (ground slam and landing slide), Apex Air Strafe, Apex Heavier Fall and Apex Wall Climb.

You can install several of them together. In the mod menu, each shows under its own name, with its own settings.

Do not install the full mod pack together with a separate file: both would run the same move. If that happens, the one that loads second stays off, and the SDK log says why. Turn one of the two off, or remove it.

WHAT HAS BEEN TESTED, AND WHAT HAS NOT

Please be gentle: this is my first published mod, and it has not been tested in every area of the game yet.

      • []Built and tested on game version 1. 8. 1-4709277. I have not tried it on a newer one: after a Borderlands 4 update it may stop working.[/]

[]Tested in the first area of the game only. Other places will certainly have surfaces the wall climb reacts to differently.[/]

[]Tested in single player only. Never tried in co-op, I do not know how it behaves with other players.[/]

[]Tested with both a controller and mouse and keyboard; both work.[/]

        You will most
