As of 0. 4. 0, Arcania no longer requires Text Mod Loader as a dependency.

IMPORTANT: Due to how many things have been completely rewritten in the latest update, many items will break if you run an existing Arcania save with the new version of the mod. It is recommended that you make a new save for a clean experience.

What to expect:

- 100+ new unique weapons! Expand your arsenal and find dozens of new ways to blow your foes' faces off! Each of the items can be obtained from a certain mission, enemy, or lootable object, with a vast majority of legendary items being obtainable from all suitable loot sources.

- Signature gear! You will get a special item for completing the first mission of the game based on the character class you're playing as. Jump into Arcania with your character's first weapon!

- Custom enemies! A few custom bosses have been added to various areas of the game to find and farm for unique drops.

- Raid boss item sets! Each raid boss now drops a set of unique seraph items that reflect the boss' mechanics. Now you can be the raid boss!

- Dynamic spawns and dynamic lootpools. Arcania uses Python to make multiple quest-related enemies respawn after their quest has been completed, and make new quest rewards drop from an enemy once the quest is done. This ensures you can obtain unlimited copies of all quest reward items added by the mod. This is going to be extended to vanilla quest rewards in a future update, so stay tuned!

- Jakobs shields! Shields of the Jakobs manufacturer provide bullet deflection and reduce damage taken from deflected bullets. They're gonna think twice before shooting you again!

- Jakobs grenades! Just like their weapons, Jakobs grenades feature high, non-elemental damage.

- 50+ brand new unique shields, grenades, and relics.

- Decluttered item cards. A lot of item card presentations have been removed or edited to make them easier to read. Arcania weapons that feature complex, non-obvious effects include a description of the effect on the item card.

- The mod file includes a spreadsheet with each item's drop source as well as an explanation of its mechanics.

- New in 0. 4: Lightweight balance changes. Arcania was originally supposed to just be a gear pack that doesn't change vanilla balance in any way, but I decided to include small adjustments to make the overall experience with new gear more enjoyable.

What NOT to expect:

- Gear replacements. Everything added by Arcania is a brand new item that can exist together with vanilla gear. Everything obtainable in vanilla Borderlands 2 is also obtainable with Arcania from the same sources.

- Major balance changes. While Arcania does include slight balance adjustments, the gameplay should still be almost the same as vanilla Borderlands 2.

- Character overhauls. All the vault hunters' skill trees are still exactly the same as they are in vanilla.

Requirements

- Arcania was made with and requires Command Extensions to create the new gear. Make sure to install that before running the mod.

- Sanity Saver is required for the gear not to be deleted on a save-quit.

- New requirement in 0. 3. 0: Text Mod Loader. Arcania now features a Python script as well as a regular BLCMM file, so Text Mod Loader is required for the mod to function properly. As of 0. 4. 0, Text Mod Loader is no longer needed.

Compatibility

- Like every other mod made using the Python SDK, Arcania is NOT compatible with co-op.

- Any other mod that uses hotfixes will likely mess with Arcania's hotfixes. That means anything that edits loot pools is not gonna work properly.

- Mods that edit anything related to loot pools, grenade mods, and relics will most probably not work together with Arcania.

Installation

- Install all the requirements for the mod, following guides provided by their authors;

- Download Arcania and extract the .zip into another folder. It should include a folder called Arcania, and additional files - the drop source spreadsheet, the latest changelog, and the balance change summary. Due to how Nexus handles the file archive, you'll likely have the files inside another folder. The Arcania folder you want to install is the one containing a .blcm file and Python files inside.
