Big Subtitles for Tiny Screens

Description

This mod increases the size of subtitles used during cutscenes and character dialogues by approximately 50%, significantly improving readability on devices with smaller screens, such as the Steam Deck, handheld PCs, or small monitors.

The original subtitle font and visual style are preserved; only the scale has been adjusted to remain faithful to Bloodborne’s aesthetic while improving accessibility.

What exactly does the mod do?

This is a visual accessibility mod only and does not affect gameplay, balance, or progression. This mod is composed of two separate files:

1. caption.gfx

Increases the size of subtitles displayed during cutscenes.

2. fe.gfx

Increases the size of subtitle text used in NPC dialogues.

Two versions of this file are provided:

• []Standard version: only increases the size of NPC dialogue subtitles.

[]HUD-adjusted version: increases subtitle size and rearranges two specific HUD clusters:

  – the player status cluster (HP, stamina, blood vials, bullets, and equipped items).

  – the currency cluster (Blood Echoes and Insight).

Both clusters are moved closer to the screen edges to better accommodate the larger text.
