📋 About This Mod

I got tired of enemies turning into ragdolls and flopping onto the floor every time I tapped them on the head or landed a solid punch. It completely kills the flow of a fight when you have to stand there for 5 seconds waiting for an NPC to finish their "get up" animation just so you can hit them again.

This mod is a simple JSON tweak but a tedious one that fixes the "floppy" physics in 1. 0 and 1. 3.

What I changed:I went through the Brain files for Easy, Medium, and Hard enemies (including the Heavy variants) and swapped the "Destabilize" command for "StaggerFull."

Basically, instead of the AI telling the character to collapse when they take a heavy hit, they’ll now just do a heavy stumble or flinch while staying on their feet. You can actually land combos now without the enemy falling out of reach constantly. They only stay down once they're actually dead which more suits my style of playing.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

No Falling Over (Nomad) is a gameplay mod for Nomad that prevents NPCs from entering ragdoll states when hit, making combat feel more stable and less interrupted. It's for players who find the default ragdoll behavior frustrating during melee fights. With 78 endorsements and over 10,000 downloads, it's a niche but popular fix.

✨ Key Features

Prevents NPCs from falling over or entering ragdoll state when hit
Aims to improve combat flow by reducing interruptions from knockdowns

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Solid download count (10,321) shows real demand for this fix
  • Tackles a common annoyance—ragdoll spam—head-on
  • Lightweight and focused; does one thing and does it well

⚠️ Cons

  • Only 78 endorsements, so it's not a widely vetted mod yet
  • May make combat feel less dynamic if you enjoy physics-based knockdowns
  • Compatibility with other combat overhauls is unknown—test before adding to a big load order
🎯 Is This For You?
For Nomad players who hate when enemies flop around like ragdolls after a light hit and want more grounded melee combat. Skip if you like the chaotic physics or use mods that rely on ragdoll effects.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since it's a simple gameplay tweak, place it near the end of your load order to ensure it overrides other combat mods.
  • If you're using a mod manager, enable preview to see the file structure before installing—it's likely just a single file.
  • Test with a few different weapon types to see how the no-ragdoll effect feels with light vs. heavy attacks.
